This new saddle's shape is meant for riders who are not so restricted by saddle shape. For optimum comfort, and performance, you flex instinctively to manage the body's weight. The ability to flex your spine may vary with fitness level. You adjust for comfort interchangeably, sometimes relying on the sit bones or sometimes relying on the genital area, or when changing hand positions on the tops, hoods, and drops. Accordingly, the Kurve Chameleon has a flat and wide profile.
While this saddle's profile is not a new innovation for Fizik, the Mobius rail is. With an undercarriage that's made of a single, circular rail, all the road vibration headed up the seatpost, towards your bum, is no longer directed through the saddle rails. Instead, that vibration, so central to on-road discomfort, is channeled away from your body, circulating through the Mobius rail, in a closed loop. That energy from road vibration is virtually dissipated away from you. Where your seatpost clamps onto the Mobius rail, an extra layer of carbon fiber wrap reinforces the strength and rigidity of the saddle.
Another neat feature of the Kurve Chameleon is the saddle nose 'tuner'. With two options, soft and hard, you can select how stiff the nose of the saddle is, depending on where you're most comfortable sitting on the saddle. This also impacts how much vibration you want to feel on the road.
